Session Agenda

Strategic KPI Design

Connect your localization metrics directly to company objectives. Learn how to position your team's work within the broader value chain and build KPIs that reflect business impact, not just operational activity.

Practical Implementation Framework

Work through real scenarios in breakout sessions. Practice translating fictional company strategies into specific KPI's, and apply a proven method for reducing goal anxiety by breaking outcomes into minimum viable steps.

Ready-to-Use Action Plan

Leave with a clear roadmap for your first week and first month. Learn to set baselines, weight KPIs appropriately, and maintain strategic focus as a multiplier for execution.

Measurable vs. Meaningful Metrics

Understand when KPIs become vanity metrics and how to avoid common design pitfalls. Distinguish between measuring throughput and measuring contribution to revenue, user retention, or market expansion.

Global Growth to Localization Operations KPI Map

Connect your work to the metrics your leadership team tracks.

Different stakeholders need different KPIs. Your CFO tracks revenue and ROI. Product teams monitor user engagement and retention. Your direct manager needs progress metrics.

You should know what to track at each level, which KPIs to present to whom, and how to set team goals that drive business growth your bosses can see.

During the workshop, you’ll work through this mapping exercise with Giulia and peers. You’ll leave with a clear strategy for reporting localization impact in terms that secure budget approval and executive sponsorship.

Workshop Roadmap

PART 1: KPI Foundations & Strategic Frameworks

You’ll learn the difference between KPIs and OKRs, understand when metrics become vanity numbers, and discover why you cannot copy KPIs across companies. Giulia will show you how to nest your localization metrics within company strategy and interpret business goals through the lens of localization impact.

PART 2: Translating Strategy into Localization KPIs

You’ll see how to convert company objectives into specific localization KPIs and explore real KPI categories used at scale: operational metrics (cost, throughput, quality), UX indicators (user satisfaction, engagement), and expansion KPIs (new markets, revenue impact).

PART 3: Interactive Practice – Breakout Rooms

You’ll participate in two hands-on breakout sessions where you’ll work with peers to apply the frameworks in practice.

In the first room, participants use a fictional company strategy to collaboratively define 2-3 Key Results for a localization team. In the second, the focus shifts to reducing KPI anxiety by breaking ambitious outcomes into measurable outputs and manageable first steps.

These sessions are designed for peer interaction: you’ll benchmark approaches, exchange ideas, and see how leaders at other companies tackle the same strategic challenges.

PART 4: Action Planning & Q&A

You’ll leave with a concrete action plan: specific to-dos for your first week and first month back at work. Giulia will answer your questions and help you prioritize the immediate steps that will shift your approach from measuring activity to driving measurable business impact.
