Assistant professor at the Language Technologies Institute of Carnegie Mellon University. His research focuses on machine translation and speech translation and neural network models. He has served as the area chair for machine translation at ACL 2016/2017 and COLING 2016. His publications have won awards such as best papers at EMNLP 2016, EACL 2017, and NAACL 2019. He is also active in developing open-source software, and is the main developer of the DyNet neural network toolkit.
